While women make just as many questionable style choices (tight jeans with muffin tops, anyone?) as men, there’s not as much help out there for guys who are innocently undermining their look. Although many fashion slips apply equally to both sexes, there are several that are very male-specific. Since it’s true that people’s first impression of us is often based on appearance, we decided to spend some time browsing workplaces, stores, cafes, and bars to uncover the most common fashion mistakes men make and let you in on how to avoid them and improve your personal presentation.

Read on to make sure you’re not committing any of these fashion crimes and find out how to correct your fashion faux pas if you recognize yourself in any one of these blunders.

French cuffs without cuff links
Since it’s not necessary to wear most dress shirts with cuff links, many men seem to be unaware that shirts with French cuffs actually do need to be accompanied by cuff links. Essentially, French cuffs without cuff links are like a Playboy without the centerfold. If you have a shirt with French cuffs, cuff links are really the icing on the cake and will enhance your appearance by making you seem more presentable and smartly turned out. As well, since French-cuffed shirts are generally worn on more formal occasions, or at least in a business environment, the purpose of wearing such a shirt is to look polished -- a feat that is hard to accomplish when your sleeves are flapping about.

For those times when you need to dress like a gentleman or want to make an elegant style statement, French cuffs with some sweet cuff links peeking out from under the sleeve of your blazer are the way to go. And while it’s true that in recent years some very famous celebs have been spotted sporting French cuffs sans cuff links, unless you’re Brad Pitt, you just won’t be able to get away with that in real life since everyone will just assume you don’t know how to dress yourself.

Make your own suit
Creating your own suit refers to purchasing pants and jackets as separates, and then combining them with little regard for whether the two items can actually be worn together or not. Just because both your jacket and pants are black, it does not mean they belong together. Fabric, cut and hue variations all play a huge role in determining whether or not two separately purchased items will complement each other. A wool blazer, for instance, will look terrible and cheap when paired with polyester dress pants and vice versa. If you’re going to wear a suit, please make sure you bought the pieces as a set or you run the risk of seeming slightly ridiculous.



Sneakers with everything
Before you get angry and start leaving nasty comments, let me explain what I mean: While wearing uber-cool sneakers with a suit can be hip and very attractive, it’s not OK to refuse to remove your sneakers and insist that they go with everything you own. They don’t, and there are certainly times when a dressier look is called for and even preferred over something funkier. Plus, it’s a little boring to wear the same thing over and over. Part of having personal style is to mix things up occasionally and show others you can successfully work a variety of looks. Of course, it’s not necessary to own as many pairs of shoes as most girls do, but you should own more than a couple of pairs of sneakers, and you should certainly own at least one pair of dress shoes. You’ll need them for formal occasions or even for frequenting more upscale bars and clubs where a dress code is reinforced.

Too much hair product
Though others have condemned it before, this crime against fashion is such a frequent and heinous one that it bears repeated mentioning. Using too much of any kind of product in your hair results in gunky hair, and no girl wants to run her hands through a head full of gel. Think about it: If the situation were reversed, you most certainly wouldn’t want to have stiff, crunchy or gooey locks between your hands. Both sexes prefer soft, touchable hair, so find a way to make your style work without winding up with helmet head.

In addition, it’s really not healthy for your hair to be doused in hundreds of chemicals on a daily basis, so lighten up. For gels and conditioners, you really only need a dime-size amount for your entire head. Use no more than a large marble-size amount of mousse and when it comes to hairspray, hold the can a good five inches from your tresses, making sure to mist only very lightly. Putties and waxes should also be used very sparingly in order to avoid a flattened, greasy look. If you’re really at a loss on how to style your hair without half a bottle of product, ask your stylist to show you next time you go in for a hair cut.

Everyone makes a fashion misstep every now and again, but the mistakes outlined above occur all too frequently and can easily be avoided. By following the simple steps suggested here and making minor tweaks to your wardrobe, your whole look will get a subtle improvement. Extras include commentary with director Tim Story, producer Avi Arad and some of their collaborators. The two-disk and Bluray releases also have deleted and extended scenes with commentary from Story, along with featurettes on the Fantastic Four's slick new flying car and the comic book history of Fishburne's Silver Surfer character.

John Cusack stars in the horror hit about a skeptic whose career as a debunker of paranormal phenomena takes a turn into terror when he checks into a New York City hotel room where 57 deaths have occurred over the years. Samuel L. Jackson co-stars in a small but memorable role as the hotel manager who discourages Cusack from staying there. The movie comes in a single0disk edition with the theatrical cut or in a two0disk set with both the theatrical version and filmmaker Mikael Hafstroms's extended director's cut, which includes an alternate ending. The two-disc set also has deleted scenes and a batch of postcards for the hotel where Cusack's character stays.

Winter Blues

As winter is approaching I’ve started to notice that I’ve been more depressed lately. I’m sure some of this has to do with the weather but I think for the most part is also has to do with the fact that I’m still single for yet another year. I know some of you that know me might say “Yeah you’re single but you still have an active sex life”, but for me that’s not really what I want. Yeas I’m a guy and I have needs and I sometimes give in to those needs but I also want something more. I want to be able to snuggle up with someone in bed and just not care about what’s going on in the outside world, to be able to sit on the couch cuddling watching a movie and laughing into each other arms. I’m sure there are tons of guys out there that know what I mean.

It seems as though I’m the last of my single friends or at least the last one that don’t have offers. This brings me to the decision to just give up searching all together. I know most of you will agree that you can only find that special someone when you’re not looking for them. This video I found really explains the way I feel at this moment in my life.

Ruth O'Connor Fisher
Ruth Fisher was born in Pasadena in 1946 and died at Good Samaritan Hospital of Glendale on Wednesday. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1963 and stayed home to raise three children before opening the Four Paws Pet Retreat in Topanga Canyon twenty years ago.

She is survived by her loving companion George Sibley, her sister Sarah O'Connor, her son David Fisher of Los Angeles and her daughter Claire Fisher of New York City. Ruth will also be missed by her four cherished grandchildren - Maya Fisher, Willa Chenowith, and Anthony and Durrell Charles-Fisher.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 15th at 2 p.m. at Fisher & Sons Funeral Home at 2302 W. 25th Street in Los Angeles. Private burial to follow.

Keith Dwayne Charles
Keith Charles, founder of Charles Security Company, was born in 1968 in San Diego. He died suddenly at work on Tuesday morning.

Keith attended West Point Military Academy, graduating with a degree in Criminology in 1989. He served the city of Los Angeles as a member of the LAPD for nine years before joining the security industry. He leaves behind his devoted husband David Fisher and loving sons Durrell and Anthony Charles-Fisher, his grandson Matthew, his sister Karla Charles and his niece Taylor Benoit of Carlsbad. Keith is pre-deceased by his parents Roderick and Lucille Charles of San Diego. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 18th at 2 p.m. at Fisher & Sons Funeral Home at 2302 W. 25th Street in Los Angeles.

David James Fisher
Born January 20, 1969. Died at the age of 75 in Echo Park. He was proud owner and operator of Fisher & Sons Funeral Home of Los Angeles for over forty years. After retiring in 2034, he went on to perform in dozens of local theater productions, including Weill and Brecht's "Threepenny Opera," Rossini's "The Barber of Seville," and as Ebenezer Scrooge in Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." David leaves behind his partner Raoul Martinez, his beloved sons Durrell and Anthony Charles-Fisher, his sister Claire Fisher and his three precious grandchildren Matthew, Keith, and Katie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southern California Opera Association

Hector Federico Diaz
Died at the age of 75 while vacationing with his wife in Puerto Rico. Federico graduated from Cyprus College in 1997 with a degree in Mortuary Science. He worked as a restorative artist for several years before becoming part owner of Fisher & Diaz Funeral Home on 25th Street. In 2005, Federico opened the Diaz Family Mortuary on DeLongpre Avenue in Hollywood, where he served the community for 35 years before retiring.

Pre-deceased by his parents Mauricio and Lilia Diaz of Los Angeles. He was married to his beloved wife Vanessa for 54 years and leaves behind his cherished sons Julio and Augusto and his three grandchildren: Emily, Celestina and Vincent.

Memorial service will be held at Diaz Family Mortuary on Saturday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. the following day at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Atwater Village.

Brenda Chenowith
Brenda Chenowith was born July 19, 1969 and died at the age of 82 at home. She earned her Masters Degree in Social Work at California State University of Los Angeles and a PhD in Theories of Human Behavior at University of Southern California.

Brenda wrote several books about the role of the gifted child in family development. She is considered to be one of the most distinguished scholars in that field of study, adding several courses to the Social Work curriculum at USC. She developed research methodologies to conclusively prove the link between deviant human behavior and fetal alcohol exposure. As a child, Brenda was the subject of the book "Charlotte Light and Dark" by Gareth Feinberg, PhD.

Brenda will be dearly missed by her beloved children Maya Fisher, Willa Chenowith, and Forrest Nathanson, her loving husband Daniel Nathanson, and her brother William Chenowith of Malibu. Private services will be held Wednesday March 9th at Deep Creek Nature Preserve. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Claire Simone Fisher
1983 - 2085
Born March 13, 1983. Died February 11, 2085 in Manhattan. Claire grew up in Los Angeles and studied art at LAC-Arts College. She worked as an advertising and fashion photographer and photojournalist for nearly fifty years, creating several memorable covers for Washington Post magazine, W, and The Face. Claire often exhibited her work in New York and London art galleries and in a time when nearly everyone else in her field had turned to digital scanning and computer-driven imaging, she continued to use a silver-based photographic process. Claire began teaching photography as a faculty member at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2018, earning tenure in 2028. She's pre-deceased by her beloved husband Ted Fairwell.

What does our dreams mean

Well I know that I usually don't post things about my dream but this one was so weird I had to get other people opinion on what you might think it mean.

I was heading to a store and as I was walking through the parking lot there was a huge dog just staring at me as I got out of my car. As we made eye contact he started to chase me so I started to run towards the stores. As I reached the door and closed it behind me I felt a bit safe but some how the dog managed to get into the store. He chased me around the store until I ran out and headed towards a McDonalds. The weird part that I notice is that the dog was not bothering anyone else in fact everyone else seemed to be oblivious to the presence of the dog. As I ran into a McDonalds to avoid the dog I tried to convince the people in the store that I was being chased by a dog but no one would belive me.

By this time the dog had managed to get into the McDonalds and chased me into the bathroom. As I was trapped in the unisex bathroom I noticed the door knob started to turn. I felt my heart start to pound as I knew there was no place for me to run to and escape what I felt was the dog coming to attack me. When the door finally opened it turned out to be a attractive guy with AMAZING hazel/green eyes. He just looked at me and smiled which made me relax a bit. As I looked into his eyes however it dawned on me that HE WAS the dog that had chased me into the bathroom. After I realized that I woke up from my dream.

OK... I know that was a weird dream but I was just wondering what others might thing it means. Oh and I'll post more about what happened this weekend. The only thing I can say is Spin will never be the same again thanks to some very intersting people that I met there but more on that later.

Wicked showdown

Now I must admit that I've never seen the play Wicked but from all the buzz it has been getting in the last few years I have become addicted to the song Defying Gravity. I've head it as it was performed by Idina Menzel (who is married to a hottie Taye Diggs). But I must admit that even though she has a good voice it does crack at the end in all of the video post that I've seen of her performing this song (still a great performance however). But as I was searching through YouTube I happened to come upon another performance of this song performed by Shoshana Bean. I must admit when I heard her sing the song it sent sort of a warm feeling through my body. I wish I could combine the two performance. I'll have Idina do the acting part and Shoshana do the sing then it would be perfect. But I'll like to get you opinion on which actress you like the best. So for your pleasure today I've posted the two best versions of them both performing Defying Gravity.

Bell tolls for "Heroes"

Kristen Bell is one mysterious women. Bell a.k.a former teen detective Veronica Mars, is joining the "Heroes" cast as Elle, a sexy, intriguing, mysterious young lady, accourding to NBC. It is unclear whether Elle is a hero or a villian, a typical plot stunt on "Heroes."

Perhaps Bell can use her "Veronica Mars" detective skills to figure out what's up in the convoluted "Heroes" world.

Bell joins recently announced "Heros" cast addition Nichelle Nichol, who played Lt. Uhura on "Star Trek".

Nichelle Nichol is the second cast member from Star Trek to join the cast Heroes. Late last season George Takei joined the cast as a former "Hero".

Tricia Helfer was born in Donalda, Alberta, Canada where she was raised on the family grain farm. She fell into modeling in high school when an agent discovered her in the line up of the local movie theatre and sent her to New York. There she won the “Ford Supermodel of the World Contest” and began her career working for magazines such as “Elle,” “Vogue,” and “Cosmopolitan.”
Her campaigns include the likes of Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Giorgio Armani and she has graced the catwalks of designers such as Versace, Dolce Gabbana, and Christian Dior to name a few.

While modeling, Helfer also worked as a correspondent reporter for Canada’s “Ooh La La” Fashion Television where she realized a passion for acting during an on-camera class. This prompted her move to Los Angeles in 2002 where she quickly landed the role of ‘Sarah,’ in the two-hour premiere of the Showtime series, “Jeremiah.” Helfer memorably guest starred as a model who tries to cut off her own face on the hit series “C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation,” and the lead role of ‘Eva’ in the independent feature “White Rush.”

Helfer started 2003 off by starring in the Scifi miniseries “Battlestar Galactica” where she played the humanoid Cylon ‘Number Six’ and also filmed the lead role of ‘Farrah Fawcett’ in the “Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Charlie’s Angels” on NBC. In 2004, Helfer reprised her role of ‘Number Six’ in the first season of “Battlestar Galactica.”

2005 was busy for Helfer as she filmed the lead role of ‘Stephanie Jacobs’ in the independent feature “Mem(o)re” opposite Dennis Hopper, guest starred on “The Collector” as ‘Janis’, filmed the mockumentary, “The Green Chain” as ‘Leila Cole’, filmed the independent feature “Spiral” as ‘Sasha’ with David Joel Moore and reprised ‘Number Six’ for the second season of the critically acclaimed series Battlestar Galactica.

Starting off 2006, Helfer filmed the lead role of ‘Ally’ in the independent feature “The Genius Club” and then headed into new territory, hosting and producing “Canada’s Next Top Model” before filming the third season of the award winning show “Battlestar Galactica,” where she again brought back the chilling ‘Number Six.’ Tricia finished off the year by playing ‘General Kilian Qatar’ in the video game, “Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.”

Tricia began 2007 by guest staring as ‘Molly McNamara’ on “Supernatural” and playing ‘Naomi’ in a new Fox pilot, “Them.” Tricia is currently filming an independent feature with LeeLee Sobieski, “Walk All Over Me” where she plays the role of ‘Celene’ before returning to her infamous role as the seductive ‘Number Six’ for the fourth season of “Battlestar Galactica.”

Fimmel grew up on a farm outside of Echuca, Victoria, Australia, as the youngest of three brothers. At the age of eighteen, Fimmel moved to Melbourne, Victoria to play football and study project management at RMIT University. However, his football career was cut short by a broken leg. He began modelling in 1998, when Fimmel was approached in a Melbourne gym by Matthew Anderson, a booker from Chadwick Model Management, with an offer to join the agency. Fimmel later rose to prominence as the star of Calvin Klein's "Crave" advertising campaign and playing the title role in The WB network's failed television series Tarzan.

An avid barefooter, Fimmel claims to go barefoot almost exclusively. He made an infamous barefoot appearance on the The Sharon Osbourne Show and is often seen and photographed in bare feet, or at most, wearing flip flops.

Fimmel has also appeared in two music videos, for "I'm Real" by Jennifer Lopez and "Someone to Call My Lover" by Janet Jackson.

Fimmel is also an oil painter. However this talent has gone largely unnoticed in respect to his professional career.

Friday Humor

I figured what better way to end the weekdend than with a few jokes.. I hope you all enjoy them.

A duck walks into a pub and orders a schooner of beer and a ham sandwich.

The barman looks at him and says, "But you're a duck".

"I see your eyes are working", replies the duck.

"And you talk!" exclaims the barman.

"I see your ears are working", says the duck,

"Now can I have my beer and my sandwich please?"

"Certainly", says the barman, "sorry about that, it's just we don't get
many ducks in this pub. What are you doing round this way?".

"I'm working on the building site across the road", explains the duck.

Then the duck drinks his beer, eats his sandwich and leaves.

This continues for 2 weeks. Then one day the circus comes to town.

The Ringleader of the circus comes into the pub and the barman says to him,

"You're with the circus aren't you?, I know this duck that would be just
brilliant in your circus, he talks, drinks beer and everything!".

"Sounds marvelous", says the ringleader, "get him to give me a call".

So the next day when the duck comes into the pub the barman says,

"Hey Mr Duck, I reckon I can line you up with a top job, paying really good
money!"

"Yeah?", says the duck, "Sounds great, where is it?"

"At the circus", says the barman.

"The circus?" the duck enquires.

"That's right", replies the barman.

"The circus?" the duck asks again.

"Yes" says the barman

"That place with the big tent?" the duck enquires.

"Yeah" the barman replies.

"With all the animals?" the duck questioned.

"Of Course" the barman replies.

"With the big canvas roof with the hole in the middle", asks the duck.

"That's right!" says the barman.

The duck looks confused.

"What the fuck would they want with a bricklayer?

Husband Wanted.

A lonely older lady, aged 75, decided it was time to get married. She put a
wanted ad in the local paper that read: HUSBAND WANTED.
Must be in my age group, must not beat me, must not run around on me, and
must still be good in bed! All applicants must apply in person.

On the second day of the ad, she heard the doorbell ring. Much to her
dismay, when she opened the door, there sat a man in a wheelchair. He had
no arms or legs.

She asked sardonically, "You're not expecting me to consider you, are you?
Just look at you - you have no legs!"
The old man smiled, "Therefore no chance to run around on you!"
She snorted, "You have no arms either!"
Again the old man smiled. "Nor can I beat you!"
The old lady raised her eyebrows and gazed at him intensely. "Are you still
good in bed?" she asked.
With a smirk the old man said, "Rang the doorbell didn't I?"

Cute Story
Little Bruce and Jenny are only 10 years old, but they just know that they
are in love.
One day they decide that they want to get married, so Bruce goes to Jenny's
father to ask him for her hand. Bruce bravely walks up to him and says,
"Mr. Smith, me and Jenny are in love, and I want to ask you for her hand
in marriage."
Thinking that this was just the cutest thing, Mr. Smith replies, "Well
Bruce, you are only 10. Where will you two live?"
Without even taking a moment to think about it, Bruce replies, "In Jenny's
room. It's bigger than mine, and we can both fit there nicely."
Still thinking this is just adorable, Mr. Smith says with a huge grin,
"Okay then how will you live? You're not old enough to get a job. You'll
need to support Jenny." Again, Bruce instantly replies, "Our allowance.
Jenny makes 5 bucks a week, and I make 10 bucks a week. That's about 60
bucks a month and that should do us just fine."
By this time, Mr. Smith is a little shocked that Bruce has put so much
thought into this. He thinks for a moment trying to come up with
something that Bruce won't have an answer to.
After a second, Mr. Smith says: "Well Bruce, it seems like you have got
everything all figured out. I just have one more question for you. What
will you do if the two of you should have little ones of your own?"
Bruce just shrugs his shoulders and says, "Well, we've been lucky so far."
Mr. Smith no longer thinks the little shit is so adorable!

Ok, Well I just caught this episode last night and all I can say is Fran had me laughing my ass off. From the clips I've seen she had to be the best in my opinion. If they keep this going I'll be adding this to my "must see TV".
