How well do we know our friends?
That's the central question in ABC's new conspiracy drave "Travelers." Or maybe it's "Whom can we trust"?
Apparently no one, but I'm sure you guessed that. It's time for two good looking college buds -Jay Burchell (Matthew Bomer) and Tyler Fog (Logan Marhsall-Green) to learn the lesson.
Jay, Tyler and Will Traveler (Aaron Stanford) meet as housemates in grad shcool, where they learn they alls hare a love of the Chicago Cubs.
"I was at teh Bartman game," Tyler says during a flashback scene.
A Bad memory, yes, but don't let that turn you away from Travelers."
Once the trio graduates, they plan a two-month road trip before getting on with the rest of their lives.
"You take time to step off the path and really see what makes this country tick," Wills ays, trying to convince Jay that leaving his girfriend for the summer is a good thing. "It'll change your life". Boy, does it.
They kick off the trip in New York by roller-blading through the "Drexler Art Museum" as a prank. Jay and Tyler skate out of the museum, it explodes , and they are instantly blamed on TV for the terrorist act.
"Travelers" becomes a thrilling, if implausible, chase adventure at this point. I thought for a moment I was watching something on the Fox network.
It turnds out the guys are targets, or pawns , in a conspiracy that may have been set up by (you guessed it) the missing Will. Instead of going to the FBI, where they believe they will be locked away, the two friends set out to learn if and why they are being set up.
It should be an exciting trip.
